CURRENT GIFT TOTAL - $11,508.54 On Sunday, November 29, 2009, Brian and Kristy Gray, along with their two year-old daughter Helen, were returning home from visiting friends and family over the Thanksgiving weekend. Around 4:30pm, while sitting at a standstill in traffic, another vehicle struck the rear of their van, causing them to crash into a vehicle in front of them. Helen, who would have turned 3 on December 23, lost her life in the accident. Her mother Kristy was flown by helicopter to Atlanta Medical Center. She suffered four broken vertebrae, a broken shoulder and a clavicle fracture. During surgery they were able to determine her spinal cord was twisted but not severed. She is paralyzed from her chest down but she and her family are determined she will walk again. Brian was treated for minor injuries and released that same day. This family has endured the greatest of sorrows – losing a child. They also face a long road of recovery as Kristy begins to heal from the major injuries she sustained in this accident. For that purpose, it is our desire to do all that we can to help ease some of the financial burden in the coming months. For these reasons the Brothers & Alumni of Zeta Eta Theta (ZHO) have set up a fund in memory of Helen Gray the daughter of Brian and Kristy Gray. This is open to ANY and ALL brothers and sisters of Christ that would like to give to this lovely family...not just Brian's ZHO Brothers.
